The Covenant Way

What is “The Covenant Way?” Parents, teachers, board members, staff, and yes, even our students, have helped answer and refine the answer to this question over the past 2-3 years of our school’s existence. No doubt, in 2025, there are many excellent options for Christian education–homeschooling, traditional Christian schools, classical Christian schools and others. With so many options, what makes Covenant unique?

In some ways, it’s hard to understand without seeing it in action. That is why I highly recommend an on-campus visit. Once you see it, I am confident you will be convinced of “The Covenant Way.” You will witness the PEOPLE that bring Covenant to life. Guided by tenants of classical, Christian education, it is our teachers, staff, students and families that make up the culture of our school. I will share just one example with you below. This is an excerpt from our weekly newsletter, the Director’s Desk.

“It was just an ordinary day.  Students were walking quietly down the stairs heading to afternoon carline. Not sure why, but no one (teacher or director) remembered to lead our students in singing as has often become our habit when we travel around the building. Just about halfway down the stairs in the quiet of little footsteps, I heard the sweetest, softest little voice begin to sing, “I may never march in the infantry…” I quickly turned my head around behind me to see who it was and saw one of our sweet kindergarten girls grinning at me with eyes beaming with joy.  I asked excitedly, “Who was that singing?” One of her fellow kindergarten students shouted her name. I shared with them all that she knew our Covenant habit and was a leader.  I asked her if she could continue to lead us again.  With the nod of her head and the sweetest smile she began to sing and lead once again and immediately the voices of ALL her classmates joined her.  The Lord is doing a mighty work in our children!”

This is just a brief glimpse into the partnership between students, parents, teachers, and staff at Covenant.  We could write an entire book recounting similar stories from the school day over the past one and a half years. We are all working together to create a culture of JOY with Christ always at the center. Over the coming weeks, we hope you will tune in as we do our best to share with you “The Covenant Way.” So stay tuned, and join us as we continue to build!
